KOSHI - koushi - lattice pattern with thick lines to represent power and thin lines to represent elegance. In Edo period, it was common to have room dividers in a lattice pattern. Thin wood or bamboo was set horizontally and vertically to create this pattern.
Peach Pink - light, pale, bright red color, same as a pink. The color comes from peach blossoms that bloom in spring. In ancient times, people used plants called Benibana (safflower) and Suho (Sappan wood) to reproduce the color of peach blossoms. It was also believed that peach blossoms had the power to "purge evil spirits".
Tsumugi - textile that represents traditional craft which has a long history and tradition. Dyeing culture is ostensibly harmonious with nature and participates in a long historical dialogue with it.
