SHOKKO design has a rich pattern of linked octagons and quadrangles and also known from Horyuji, the oldest temple in Japan, where it appears on precious objects found there. A traditional and noble pattern, the square and octagonal shapes represent the River Shokko which existed in the ancient Chinese country of Han. As the design conveys the meaning of successful marriage and longevity, it is used at wedding ceremonies.
Oribe - town where the craftsmen gathered to produce silk fabrics. The town was in area that is now known as Kamigyo ward in Kyoto.
Tsumugi is a textile that represents traditional crafts which has a long history and tradition. Dyeing culture is ostensibly harmonious with nature and participates in a long historical dialogue with it.
