OKAME - Otafuku is a popular figure in Japanese folk tales. Often depicted with large cheeks and a joyful smile, her name translates as “much good fortune” or “plenty of happiness”. She’s known as a goddess of mirth in the Shinto religion, and is often seen with Hyottoko, a god of wind or Fukusuke, a male counterpart who also represents happiness and good luck.

Otafuku represents a lovely, always smiling Japanese woman who brings happiness and good fortune to any man she marries.

Otemoyan - Japanese folk song from Kumamoto Prefecture. It is played by mass performers dancing in the streets of Kumamoto in the summer. It is usually accompanied by shamisen, taiko drums and other percussion, and the Japanese used has a southern Kumamoto accent.
