★ RARE collector piece - Vintage Japanese dorei bell by Mizushige Kikuchi - Sukagawa Snail - KATATSUMURI ★
Snail is a symbol of fertility, new life, and wisdom. They are often depicted in art as symbols of slow progress and patience, reflecting their natural characteristics. Spiral shell was also considered a symbol of the universe and the cyclical nature of life. Snail has been considered good luck charms in many traditions, symbolizing success and prosperity.
This bell was created by Mizushige Kikuchi, who quit his job in 1970 and opened the Rokumo kiln in Sukagawa. The stylish design was popular, but after death of the artist in 1995, it was abolished after one generation.
